We attended their Christmas networking event providing a fun and energising one off workshop for over 40 members in between networking and speakers with the aim of bringing people together, creating a festive mood, having fun and feeling great. We sang a number of well known Christmas songs.
This was a networking event with people chatting already, but to convince people to step forward and join in with singing was challenging. People looked a bit nervous at first and unsure of what to expect.
We didn’t have a long session together so we got stuck into singing straight away. I created an A-Z of well known Christmas songs, and set off singing the introduction to each song, asking people to join in as soon as they realised what the song was. This was a great way to break the ice and after just one song, the session flowed well.
Within seconds the whole group was joining in, dancing and laughing. The songs were so well known that people knew the lyrics and had no problem joining in. There were no harmonies at this workshop, just a chance to sing out loud and have fun with colleagues and others from the network. After the session everyone was uplifted, happy and feeling the Christmas spirit. People stayed engaged with the activities that followed the singing, having grown in confidence.
